Sales Representative – Orthopedic Devices

Position: Sales Representative – Orthopedic Devices

Location: 1660 Calle Santa Ana, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00909

Position Duties:

Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific orthopedic implant products can meet their needs. Visit distributor establishments to evaluate customer’s needs and promote orthopedic products. Emphasize product features, based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations. Assist customers in selecting orthopedic implant products based on customer needs and product specifications. Prepare sales presentations and proposals to explain product specifications and advantages. Identify prospective customers, using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in trade shows and conference attendance. Provide customers with ongoing technical support for orthopedic implants. Study documentation and maintain up-to-date knowledge of new scientific and technical products as well as maintain general knowledge in advances and trends in the field of orthopedic medicine. Attend sales meetings and read publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments in the orthopedic industry. Demonstrate how to use orthopedic implant products. Inform management and company’s technical experts regarding technical problems with products. The employee will demonstrate how to use orthopedic implant products to other sales representatives and at times customers. The employee will instruct them about the product, their uses, and explain the instruments used by the physician to implant the product. The employee will not demonstrate use of the products in a clinical or surgical setting involving patients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medicine, Biomedical engineering or any closely related degree or foreign equivalent plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a healthcare practitioner.
  • In the alternative, four (4) years of experience in the job offered
  • Candidate must be able to travel one week per month nationally and internationally to attend trade shows, train staff, and meet with customers.
